Driving down the winding gravel road to Jenny's Wildlife Wonderland, you'll want to watch out for any incoming animals. You'll also want to watch out for three boys on dirt bikes- they like to show off and race each other down the hill. A basketball hoop stands before a tractor, and several cats skirt in between the legs of Jenny Romesburg, the humble non-profit owner of the only wildlife rehabilitation center in Boone County. With the help of her husband, she converted her garage into the home of possums, deer, otter, and cats.
"When I first started doing it, it was only about one litter at a time," Romesburg said. "And back then I worked at the humane society, so I'd just take everything to work with me so it was easy to bottle feed every few hours."
